So, the team was in place – a top-notch crew of tech heads, ready to catch every detail of these chats! Christian and Woodkid. talked about the musical journey, and how they reconnected after Season 1. Christian highlighted why Woodkid was the UNDENIABLE CHOICE for this intense face-off between Vi & Jinx.
In short…the Arcane creative minds needed music that could hit you right in the feels – music that matched the crazy rhythm of the scene.
Woodkid, collaborating with Alex Seaver (Show’s Composer) and Eliot Connors (Sound Designer), crafted not only a unique Anomaly sound – blending screams, ancient percussion, and electronic/tribal elements – but also incorporated a children’s choir.
This meticulous work with the sound effects team, allowed to inject even more energy and elevation into the scene!

At Fortiche, Woodkid headed over to Bart’s office to chat about the animation process: how they went from the storyboard to animatics, layouts, animation, lighting. What made this process unique was that the music was integrated incredibly early, allowing them to work directly with the final track. This gave the sequence this awesome music-video aesthetic, like every frame was locked to the beat.
Bart shared how they meticulously planned the choreography: every single sound effect, every character movement, every detail became an opportunity to either align or play against the music’s tempo.
For the Jayce multiplied sequence, the Fortiche artists performed a detailed breakdown of the music & image to create this zoetrope-like effect – micro- chopping the music to accentuate the fractured and disorienting nature of the moment!
Of course, Woodkid couldn’t leave without meeting the Fortichers – sparking conversations and anecdotes, capturing memories with photos in the studios, sharing the passion for animation & music – it was an opportunity to celebrate this amazing collaboration!
